It’s something I’m not very good at, but something that is often required.
I have been writing this blog for 6 1/2 years. I am very proud of what I have built here. I am proud of the improvement in my writing, in my ability to convey a message and tell a story. I have wanted more out of my blog for some time now. I have researched ways to monetize, tried doing giveaways and I even have an ad on my site. I’ve wanted to be one of those “big” bloggers I hear so much about. I’ve even talked about writing a book.
I have wanted many things, but nothing ever felt right. The timing was wrong. All of the beginnings to that book were never quite right. I wasn’t happy doing giveaways. It just wasn’t my thing. For the most part, I was fine with all of that, but the ambitious girl in me wasn’t.
A couple of months ago, Kelly from ProjectMe invited me to do an interview on her website called What can you learn from a Mom of Seven? (If you haven’t checked her site out, you really should.) In many ways, it was kind of an “aha” moment for me. I can’t quite explain it, but it was as though everything was coming together in a way that finally felt right.
And thanks to Kelly’s encouragement, I began heading in a new direction.
I have spent the last two months building a new website and I am proud to announce today the launching of the Happppy Mom website!
What IS HappppyMom?
I strongly believe that you create happiness. Happppy Mom is designed to help you through the frustration and overwhelm that sometimes comes with Motherhood and help you find happiness in the hardest job in the world. It is a strategy I use to tackle just about every issue we have in our large family and it is one that works no matter your family size. It is the answer to all those, “I don’t know how you do it! I can barely handle my ____ amount of children!”
I will have a weekly post as well as a weekly Podcast. If you have questions that you would like me to answer in next week’s Podcast, feel free to leave them in the comments here, or over at Happppy Mom or even my new FB Page!
What ISN’T HappppyMom?
It ISN’T saying that Motherhood will be all grand and easy. It ISN’T over-idealistic. Being happppy doesn’t mean never having difficulties. I’ve always been very honest about my experience in Motherhood, and that won’t change one bit over at Happppy Mom! The difference is simply that you can find happiness in the challenge that is Motherhood.
What does that mean for the blog? Are you shutting down?
I’m not going anywhere and neither is the blog. However, it will no longer be my primary focus. I plan to post at least once a week. I love writing and telling stories about my children. But my attention will primarily be at Happppy Mom.
Head on over to Happppy Mom and see what it’s all about! If you sign up for the newsletter at Happppy Mom, you will get a super awesome Meal Planning Kit. I’ve included 12 recipes as well as several Printables you can use to help with one of the hardest time of the day.
I’ve worked hard to make sure it is a place for Moms from every walk of life and I look forward to continuing to create content for the new site and hope to see you over there! Here’s to heading in a new direction!
