Old-school blogging

So, I guess there’s this thing that bloggers used to do which was basically answer a set of questions someone gave you. While I may be an old blogger (6 years next week), I neglected to participate in any of the fun for quite some time and kept to myself. But without further ado, I give you the holiday edition of old-school blogging!

First things first: 1 Holy Night or 8 Crazy Ones? (Do you Celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, both?)

We celebrate Christmas with all the Santa fun we can muster.

Peppermint or Chocolate?

Mostly chocolate, but this time of year you can smush those two together and I will be a happy camper.

Sing us into the Holiday Season, what is your favorite Carol this time of year?

All of them. Ok, that might be a little too broad. I absolutely LOVE the arrangement of White Christmas by Michael Buble and Shania Twain.

When it comes down to it though, I love old-school Christmas music, you know, the classics.

Tell us about a Favorite Family or Personal Holiday Tradition.

My all-time favorite family tradition is our Christmas Eve. Our evening is centered around Christ up until right before bed when we bust out the Santa stories and open PJ’s.

Christmas Eve

C’mon you remember your favorite (Christmas, Hanukkah) gift, tell us all about it:

The gift I remember most from my childhood was the year my parents gave me a boombox and a Whitney Houston CD. I wore them both out!

That magical moment? (Your favorite scene from a Holiday movie…it’s okay if you have 2

It’s entirely possible that I am really about 8 at heart. My favorite movie is still Home Alone, the original one, not one of the crappy seconds. I think the best scene is the last third of the movie when the “robbers” are being tormented. See, I’m 8.

Kissing under the mistletoe? Who do you hope is standing underneath (We know it’s normally your spouse, if it did not have to be, who would you choose?)

This tasty dish. Sigh.

Swans a swimming, lords a leaping, golden rings; which gift of the 12 days of Christmas would you like most?

Swans poop, lords leaping just sounds like more chaos, so I’m going to have to stick with the gold. Always go with the gold.

Play Secret Santa, what inappropriate gift would you love to give this year?

Coal. They know who they are.

Martha Stewart or the Grinch? What is your decorating style? (Pictures would be awesome!)

Since my husband does the decorating, let’s go with Max Stewart.

Christmas Tree

What is ONE WORD that defines the holiday season for you? (Examples: Believe/Wonder/Bah Humbug?)

Family. They are what it is all about. Those people that make me crazy are the same ones that I make cookies for and spend hours shopping for just to see them smile.

Winter 2012 030

If Santa could assure its delivery, what’s the first thing on your holiday wish LIST?

The #1 thing on my wish list is a trip for 9 to Hawaii. A girl can dream.
