My children are like professional basketball players
2013
*****WARNING***** It has been brought to my attention that the music contained in this video has bad words. I always watch them on mute and was unaware!****
My children are absolute pros when it comes to faking an injury. I have seen them brush past each other in the hallway and one of them will fall to the ground wailing and declaring great and permanent injury to some portion of their body.
Seriously, people.
I don’t know where they learn it from. Their father and I don’t behave in this manner. The only possible answer is that we have spent far too much time watching team sports as a family.
I made them sit and watch the above video, curious to see what their reaction was. They laughed at each supposed injury. They declared how stupid the players looked. And then I asked them if they had any idea why I would want them to watch this video.
My eldest knew.
As he explained, several of my children ducked their heads in shame. I asked them if they knew why a player would behave in such a way.
“Ummm, to cause a foul on the other team?” One child answered. I nodded in the affirmative and asked what the purpose was when each of them pulled the same stunt.
“Ummm, to get someone in trouble?”
Dingdingding!
I’m not sure how long this particular light bulb moment will last, but if I can have one or two days sans screaming for imaginary injuries, I will be a happy camper.

Too funny…sorry about the kids, maybe one day one will get an Oscar!
