If you are like me, you spend a ridiculous amount of time pinning cleaning and organization tips. You dream of that day when your house will look clean and organized. You may even attempt a project or two or mix some concoction that promises to clean your shower with little effort.
But instead you find yourself covered in a slimy mess and more exhausted than if you had just ignored your dirty shower for another day. It will still be there tomorrow.
But today, I present real life solutions to some of your cleaning woes. Got dirty dishes? I have a 20 second, practical clean-up solution for you! Is your house a mess and you have company coming unexpectedly in five minutes? Never fear, I’ve got you covered!
Problem: Dirty dishes in the sink
You could spend hours scrubbing and cleaning your dishes all covered in soap and hot water with a toddler crying at your leg.
Solution: Throw a towel on it!
Dirty dishes no more!
Problem: Dirty Pots and Pans on your counter
Solution: Put it in the oven
Once you close that door, your pots and pans are out of sight and out of mind! Need one later? Just cross that bridge when you come to it!
Problem: Dirty floor with crumbs sticking to your feet
Are you tired of spending your life sweeping up all the food that somehow makes it onto the floor?
Solution: Wear shoes!
If you are having a good day, your socks might even match! But no more irritating crumbs stuck to the bottom of your feet. And just insist your company keep their shoes on and if they try to be polite, stop them!
Problem: Unfolded laundry on the couch
Don’t have time or desire to fold that laundry? No worries!
Solution: Throw a blanket over it!
Just tell people it is a child’s fort! And if you are as awesome as I am, your son will ask who is coming over when he sees the blanket over the laundry!
And THAT, my friends, is how you clean in a hurry. No mess. No fuss. Nothing fancy!!

I just stumbled on you blog looking for gluten free dairy free lunch box ideas. You gave me a laugh I needed this morning. I’ve got six kids, oldest just left for college this fall and is now engaged. Anyway, ditto on the cleaning. My favorite was the cartoon, this is how I do it. I have friends who clean their kids rooms, but they won’t learn that way. Not sure what they are learning now because the rooms are chaotic disaster!!
