What a great essay! I don't know who said it first, but a quote that has stayed with me says "A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove. But the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child." We have often been taught by our church leaders that the most important work we will ever do will be within the walls of our own homes. You make a profound difference in the lives of your children, who will remember that influence all the days of their lives. And they will share that influence with their children and grandchildren. What an amazing legacy. I couldn't be more proud of you!

Great post Stacey! You are so right. The world says we should be so much more, yet the world has no idea that this job - motherhood - is so much more than they give us credit for. This motherhood gig is messy and challenging and tiring and oh so amazing. Thank you for your beautiful post. I loved it so much I stumbled it.
Have a great day.
